Hi Ashrut, I'm glad to do this interview
What do you like in your character of Manish and in the script when you read it?
In India we have a rich tradition of celebrating friendships. Right from a very young age we read “Panchatantra” stories.
And hence to stand with our friends during good or bad is some thing which comes from our upbringing.
Manish is some one who stood by Sikandar when Sikandar needed him the most. And hence when I was reading it, I was able to connect it with my personnel life. Several times, I was helped and I was
able to help! That’s life!
How did you prepare for your role?
Every role is different likewise methodology for the preparation is also different.
I believe in strong and detailed preparation by implementing the vision of the director that is 90 percent of my work.
Remaining 10 percent is performing it on the set and I assure you this method always hits the bulls eye. I have trained myself in Stanislavsky method, Meisner Technique and Chekhov Technique.
However, Stanislavsky method worked the best for my character called Manish in Sikandar Ka Maquaddar.
This method is basically “actors to consider what they would do if they were in the circumstances of the characters they were playing.
How is the shooting with Jimmy Shergill, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia .......... and the director Neeraj Pandey?
Every great actor always recognises the
depth of the performance of their co actor and appreciates them.
And I thank Avinash, Tamanna and Jimmy sir for doing the same. Avinash is a natural, Tamanna is a stunning performer and Jimmy sir is an encyclopaedia of acting in himself.
Neeraj Sir is one of the greatest
director of our times.
He is a master craftsman and his grip over thrillers is impeccable.
” I feel extremely confident when I am under his direction”.
He’s had a profound impact on my life, creatively and professionally.
Where is the movie shot and when?
This movie has been shot in Mumbai and Agra in India and in Abu Dhabi.
This was shot between March to May of 2024.
When and why did you choose to be an actor?
To be able to live many lives in one
life made me choose to be an actor.
I can be a world leader, poet, scientist, President, army officer etc etc in just one life time. Also I love to act.
This is one thing that makes my soul happy. And with so many mediums coming up to tell and sell stories …it’s a very good time for being an actor.
Thank you very much for your interview Ashrut I wish you all the best
