Exclusive interview with  Victoria Morgan, Australian Actress

Hi Victoria, I'm glad to do this interview.

Can you introduce yourself to the visitors of cinema-movietheater.com?

My name is Victoria, and I’m an Australian actress currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Over the years, I’ve lived in cities including Edinburgh, Los Angeles, and Toronto, but Australia will always be a part of me.

Vancouver is often referred to as Hollywood North, though many people don’t realise just how much film and television work happens here.
That’s what brought me to Canada—the opportunity to be part of such a thriving industry.

Je parle un peu français! I’ve loved French culture since I was young, and while I’m still learning the language, I hope to speak fluently one day!

What did you like in your character of Ava Dufrain?

Ava carries herself with a quiet resilience. She’s had to navigate life without certain truths, and yet she doesn’t let that make her bitter.

There’s something fascinating about characters who are in survival mode but still manage to hold onto warmth.

That’s what I liked about her—she’s independent, but not hardened.

She doesn’t realise how much her instincts are guiding her until she’s forced to make a decision that could change everything.

What did you like when you read the script?

I was drawn to the emotional undercurrent of the story.

Procedurals move fast—you get in, you get out—but within that structure, there are these little moments where you glimpse something deeper.

I liked that this particular episode wasn’t just about solving a case; it was about what happens when the truth you’ve built your life around is suddenly pulled out from under you.

How did you prepare for your role?

Preparation is always a mix of instinct and structure.

With a role like this, it’s not about building an entire backstory from scratch but about dropping into a moment and making it feel real.

I thought a lot about Ava’s worldview—how she processes trust, what fairness means to her, and how she’s learned to stand on her own.

A lot of that is unspoken, but it informs how she moves through the world.

And sometimes, preparation is just about staying open to whatever happens on the day.

Are you watching during the broadcast?

I watched it when it first aired in Canada, which is always a strange experience because by the time something comes out, you’ve already moved on to other things. The best part, though, was that it aired in Australia.

Since I’ve been working overseas for years, my family and friends don’t always get access to my work, so having something of mine on Australian network TV was special.

How is the shooting with Scott Caan, Dania Ramirez, Ryan Broussard .....?

I didn’t get to shoot with Scott, but I heard only great things about him.

Dania was such a strong presence—she’s someone who knows how to hold space for a scene partner, and I really appreciated that.

Most of my scenes were with her, and I always felt like she had my back.

Ryan and I didn’t film much together, but he was great—professional, easy to work with, and someone who makes the environment on set feel grounded.

Where is the show shot?

It was shot in Vancouver, BC. Most of the interior scenes were done in a studio, but the exteriors I filmed were in the heart of downtown, in a suburb called Gastown.

It’s one of the oldest parts of the city, with cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and this cool, almost European feel.

When and why did you choose to be an actress?

I always grew up performing—dance was my first love, and for a long time, I thought that was the path.

But dance is physically demanding, and acting opened up a new way of storytelling that wasn’t confined to movement.

What really drew me in was the psychology of it.

I’ve always had this need to understand why people do what they do—to see the world from their perspective, even when their choices are complicated.

Acting lets me step into someone else’s reality and fully embody that point of view. It’s not just about playing a character; it’s about breaking down motivations, finding the truth beneath the surface, and living inside a perspective that isn’t my own.

That constant exploration is what keeps me coming back to it.

What is your next challenge / project?

The Amazon MGM+ show Earth Abides, which I was recently a part of, has just been released worldwide, including in France, so that’s been a focus for me recently.

There’s always a lot happening behind the scenes, and I’m exploring a few exciting opportunities—I look forward to sharing more soon.

Do you wish to add something ?

It’s always fun getting to talk about the work, so thank you for taking the time to chat with me. J’espère que vous apprécierez l’épisode!
