Hi Heather , First, I'm very happy to do this interview about you
What did you like about the storyline and your role in the TV movie Brexit?
The short answer would be ‘everything ‘. James Graham’s dissection of the process is so sharp.
Telling the Referendum story with Dominic Cummings (Benedict Cumberbatch) at it’s centre is, I think, a stroke of total genius.
I play Sandra who appears in the Focus Group scenes and represents the ‘Hearts vs Heads’ section of the population.
The Remain campaign’s Craig Oliver ( Rory Kinnear) sets up the Focus Group so our scenes were with him which was marvellous.
Sandra gave me the chance to revisit the campaign and really look at it
from her point of view.
It was illuminating & I learned so much in many ways from that process. To inhabit this woman and walk a little in her shoes has been an extraordinary privilege.
How was the filming?
Very intense. Toby Haynes gave us a wonderful freedom to work with each other to build the charge in the Focus Group which I just loved.
We filmed during the height of last summer’s heatwave so we were all very warm in our little room but I know Toby & his crew were much much
warmer - we all came out of it smiling & ‘glowing’!
Do you have an opinion about the Brexit?
I voted Remain
When and why did you choose to be an actress?
I was a very very small child when I first thought - that’s what I want. ‘Why’ is harder to answer as I really was so young. I love stories & telling
them.
I always wanted to be different people & inhabit as many of them as possible.
What is your next challenge?
The next story...
Do you wish to add something?
My thanks to everyone involved for an unforgettable experience.
Thank you very much for your interview Heather and I wish you the best for your future
