Hi  Melanie I'm glad to do this interview

Can you introduce yourself to the visitors of cinema-movietheater.com?

Hello, my name is Melanie Garcia and I play the barista in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

What could you tell us about your character Barista ?

My character works at Bridge Donuts in San Francisco.

She is the niece of Ruben Rabasa and they really are a dynamic duo.

Scott Lang is a regular at our coffee shop but we are still star-struck every time we see him.

My character is aware that Scott is Ant-Man but my uncle has trouble telling the bug superheroes apart.

How did you prepare for your role?

It is a crazy story because I actually had no time to prepare for the role.

I was originally booked as background and they needed someone to play a barista. I was then chosen from a few.

This is something that doesn’t happen very often and I am very grateful to have had this opportunity. I had no idea what the scene was or what I was going to be doing.

Thankfully I’ve been preparing for any opportunity that came my way. I brought out my inner fangirl and imagined how the people in the Marvel universe would react to a superhero that saved the world.

What interests you when you read the scipt about  this movie?

I actually didn’t receive a script. For my part, Mr. Reed directed me to improv and do what came naturally. The Ant-Man movies are always hilarious so I was really excited to get to be a part of this comedic scene.

I saw in your IMDb Page what it is your first role in full-length film,

I wish you to do many others.

How did you get this role?

Thank you very much for your well wishes! I really appreciate that!

Yes, this is my first role in a full-length film.

For it to have been a Marvel movie, which is a company that I have grown up with, really meant a lot to me.

I wish I had an elaborate audition process to tell you about but it was pretty much the case of being in the right place at the right time.

I am very grateful that they liked Ruben and I’s dynastic and brought us back for the extra scene at the end.

How is the shooting with Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas........ and the director Peyton Reed?

Paul Rudd is truly the person you would imagine him to be.

He walked into the room and shook everybody’s hand and introduced himself. Peyton walked me through everything and shared his full vision of the scene. Ruben was a pleasure to work with and his comedic timing was effortless.

It really gave me something to bounce off of and we did a couple of takes of improv.

I was so nervous but everyone made me feel so comfortable and I feel that we ended up creating a scene that made people laugh and that many people will remember.

Where is the movie shot?

The scene takes place in the streets of San Francisco but we were actually in this adorable town in Los Angeles.

When and why did you choose to be an actress?

It has been a lifelong dream for me but something that I never thought was possible. I don’t have any connections to the industry and even though I live in Los Angeles, I had no idea how to even begin.

Even when taking acting classes, pursuing it, felt so far away.

By working on sets I have learned so much about the industry and I am working hard every day to continue my passion.

Starting by doing background acting gave me a deep appreciation for all the work that goes on behind the camera.

I love every part of production and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Would you like to do other movies, with the franchise Marvel / Disney?

That would be the absolute dream!

When watching the movies with my family, we had a tradition of searching for our names in the credits. We would tell each other, “Our actual names will be on there one day.”

It was truly an emotional moment for me to see my actual name in the credits of a company that started my love for films.

As we watched every movie, we would also look out for Stan Lee and this part reminded me of his iconic cameos.

Nobody could ever replace Stan Lee, but I think it would be hilarious to come back in every movie with a different job. Who knows maybe one day I could be a part of the Avengers.

What is your next challenge / project?

I have nothing lined up at the moment but I am continuing to audition and work on my passion, and I can’t wait to see what is next.

Do you wish to add something?

Thank you so much, Jean-Paul! It was an absolute pleasure to do this interview and for everybody reading, you can watch Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania everywhere now.

Thank you very much for your interview  Melanie and I wish you the best
