Hi Mary I'm happy to do this interview.

Can you introduce yourself to the visitors of cinema-movietheater.com?

Hello everyone. My name is Mary Vulgari and I am actress based in Athens. This season I am playing in the play "Waiting Room", a play about women.
At the same time, I am involved in my great love, cinema. At the moment, we are preparing for the shooting of the film “Climb” by Costa Kalogiros.

What did you interest when you read a script ?
The first thing I notice is the plot. I don't like anything predictable, I want it to "challenge" me. The second is the character that has been proposed to me.
I want the character that is proposed to me, to interest me and be able to help me grow both as an actor and as a person.

How did you prepare for your roles as actress?

I read the script a lot.I ask the director a lot of questions about the story and especially about the character that I have to perform.
Then, I create a profile of my character.
Something like a diary. How would she react to each situation, what is her daily routine, even what is her favourite food or color. I’m trying to be the character and know them as well I can.

When and why did you choose to be an actress?

I was 10 years old, when I saw the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream” by William Shakespeare, at the theater and I liked it so much that I decided to become an actor.
I love this job, because it gives me the opportunity to live many lives and not get bored. I have also studied sociology, which I also love, but art always comes first.

What memories do you have of these shoots?

The film “For Poetry Can Fix You” is one of my favorite collaborations.
The director of the film is Costas Kalogiros, with whom I am preparing to work again, as I mentioned earlier. I have beautiful memories from the rehearsals, the conversations, the filming days, and of course, with all my collaborators.
The film “Invisible World” is also a wonderful project.
I played an woman from Israel, female soldier in one of her more internal and feminine moments. It is a great  film (the director is Manuel de Coco, a talented artist), which was filmed over approximately 17 years in different countries around the world.

You perform too in Dancing Diving and in Dance.
What did you like in her activities?

I’m practicing dancing since the age of 14.
It is a great way to express yourself and also stay fit. Diving is also huge love, as the Sea in general is.
The water makes me feel free and comfortable. I feel so good under the water, so peaceful. I wish I was a mermaid, hehehe.
