Exclusive interview with Nanrisa Lee, American Actress

By Jean-Paul Eliard
The 03 October 2025

Hi Nanrisa, I am very happy to do this interview.
Hi Jean-Paul, thanks for having me.

Could you introduce yourself to the visitors of cinema-movietheater.com?
Sure thing, I’m Nanrisa, I’m an actor and storyteller, an avid knitter, occasional poker player, and native Californian.

What do you like when you read the script?
I really enjoy it when a script ends up surprising me.
I’ll be reading it, thinking I know where the story is going, and then all of a sudden, it leads to somewhere I didn’t expect. Keeps you on your toes.

And what did you think when you discovered your character  Inspector General Regina Ward (S22 E19)?
I loved that Regina was a bit of a red herring. She’s so difficult to read that it keeps everyone guessing until the end.

Can you tell us how you got your role?
I was invited by the casting directors, Jason Kennedy and Kristi Baxter to read for the director. It was pretty straightforward, I did one take for each scene, and got the call a few days later.

How did you prepare for your role?
After reading the script, I thought about what Regina’s strengths are, what are the innate things about her that helped her to have such success in her work? Where does the confidence and conviction come from when she’s challenging Vance?

How was filming like with Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law.........? And yhe director Michael Zinberg?
I didn’t have the opportunity to work with Wilmer Valderrama, but I was lucky enough to spend time with the rest of the team!

Everyone was extremely welcoming and supportive.

I had a great time with them on camera and off. Michael was also amazing to work with, you can tell he’s a real actor’s director.

Do you watch yourself during the broadcast?
When I can I will, but the most fun part is making it!

When and why did you choose to become an actress?
Is it a film, an actress..........?

I think it’s the study of human behavior that I love.
Being able to step inside the mind and body of someone who’s been shaped by completely different experiences than I have will always be exciting.

You also have roles in S.W.A.T. (2020), 911 (2019), and NCIS: Los Angeles (2017).
These are three series I really like. What memories do you have of filming them?

They were all great sets to work on!
I remember we shot 911 at an actual airport, and there was a bit of tricky choreography between the luggage tags and getting everything onto the luggage belt.

I was nervous about it, but the camera department in particular was amazing. Sometimes it’s the technical things that make a job challenging!

What is your next challenge / project?
I’ve been learning about directing and writing, just making little things.
Acting is still my favorite thing to do, but storytelling from behind the camera is just as exhilarating! So, there’ll definitely be more of that in the future.

Thank you very much for your interview Nanrisa, I wish you the best.
