Exclusive interview with Chelah Horsdal, Canadian Actress

Hi Chelah, I'm very happy to do this interview.

When you read the script, what did you like about the storyline and in your character Dr. Shelley Sussman  in Noelle ?

I actually was not provided the script or secrecy reasons.
They let me read my scenes only. I found the scenes funny and was stoked for the chance to work with Anna Kendrick. 

How was the filming with your co-stars and the director Marc Lawrence ?

Fantastic. Marc is a real delight to be around. I found out the morning of my first day that Shirley MacLaine was in the movie and we’d be sharing a scene.
Ms MacLaine is a huge part of the reason I became an actor, so you can imagine how thrilling that was. Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader were also very welcoming and about as funny as you’d guess they’d be. 

Did you perform with your co-stars before ?

Nope. This was my first time meeting all of them. 

I think you saw Santa Clauz during the filming. Is he kind and as old as  ?

I did not see Santa. I suspect he was busy elsewhere.  

I read on your biography ".........Chelah is currently producing a documentary about her father, Canadian folk legend Valdy.......... 
Could you tell us more on this documentary ?

My father was named to the Order Of Canada in 2011. It struck me at the time that he’s been a sort of Canadian cultural anthropologist over the course of his 50 year career and that his own story had not yet been fully told.
Then it dawned on me that I may be the perfect one to do it, as I’m a storyteller by trade. I began shooting interviews immediately and have continued to do so. The project has been interrupted repeatedly by my job and his, but I’m committed to completing the best film possible. In the year to come I’ll likely hit the road on tour to film him in his element, on stage performing for an audience.

What is your next challenge ?

I’m currently shooting a new show for Netflix, although I don’t think I’m allowed to say what it is until they’ve announced as much.
Working with another lovely group of people. Also doing some promotion for our fourth and final season of Amazon’s The Man In The High Castle, which launches November 15.
