What did you like about the story-line and your role in Bumblebee?
The film is set in the 80's...a decade of fabulous music and big hair.
I definitely represent the era with the marvelously large locks! "Bumblebee" Director Travis Scott who founded Laika Studios is a wonderful storyteller.
I'm so grateful to be a small part of the adventure, which hits theaters
How was the filming of Bumblebee?
I had the time of my life.
Everyone was so kind, and talented. Being on set for TV shows & films always reminds me of doing live hits for broadcast.
It's terrifyingly awesome! You are in your own head and you just want to nail it.
Did you interview Bumblebee during the movie haha?
Sadly, I did not. Though, I would have loved to.
What brings you to be an actress that you do not find in your other activities?
Being a reporter and an actress makes you vulnerable.
Their is such a thrill in it, but I feel performing gives you more creativity.
You're not just telling a story in your own words like you do in broadcast.
You're telling a tale the way someone else has scripted it.
You're forced to see a situation through another's eyes and portray
When and why did you choose to be an actress?
Ever since I was a kid, I've always enjoyed telling stories.
Growing up, I thought I wanted to write and direct.
I would spend nights after school drafting scripts for my group of friends
and I to perform. I started teaching myself how to shoot and edit video
hoping to one day create documentaries.
In high school I ended up auditioning for a musical theater group which traveled the country singing and dancing.
Once I got a taste of being on stage I was hooked.
How was President Obama's inaugural ball back then?
President Obama's inaugural ball was remarkable.
I grew up in the outskirts of Washington D.C. Being able to return home
for such a historic event was phenomenal.
There were so many people and everyone in the city was riding a wave of excitement. I'm very thankful I was able to witness it.
You are training for a pilot license, What did you like when you pilot your airplane?
I stay pretty busy and I rarely have much down time. What I love most about flying is regardless of what is going on in your life, you are forced to think about nothing else but flying.
What is your next challenge?
I'm going to be traveling quite a bit in the upcoming months...heading to Australia, and to Utah. It means a lot more work before I head out,
but I'm really looking forward to it and can't wait to see what 2019 has in store.
